Collecting: The High's Second Annual Print Fair

Last year when I stopped by the inaugural High Museum of Art Print Fair, I observed everyone from a dressed-down David Brenneman, the museum's Director of Collections and Exhibitions, to first-time collectors browsing the stacks.

There's a tremendous range in terms of prints, too. And I mean diverse periods and styles -- Old Master European, Japanese, American, Midcentury, Contemporary -- as well as prices. The Fair happens to be scheduled this year on Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13, so art-appreciating moms might enjoy attending as a less-expected Mother's Day treat. Admission to the selectively curated Fair is free, and SCAD-Atlanta alums Ashley L. Schick, Laura Cleary, and Shaun McCallum (the trio behind Straw Hat Press) will offer printmaking demonstrations both days from 1 to 4 p.m. BTW, for a general intro to prints, this is my favorite link.
